Although Phoenecia's Echelon Mall is the culmination of 4 years of exhibitions and film work, the project did not begin with their first commission, rather the moment the first revision was requested. Realizing that useful limbs were bound to be severed, and conversely, THAT MUSIC FOR FILM NEEDS TO UNDERGO ADDITIONAL SURGERY TO BECOME GOOD lisTENING MUSIC, the artists tucked the idea of Echelon Mall away for safekeeping, adding bits and pieces as time passed.

Just finished the alternate mix of smother, a film i scored (MUSIC & sound design) in 2008.
The alternate score & edit is a remixed version of Smother including parts that were omitted from the release version. An alternate reworked 20 minute version of Smother appears on Phoenecia's Echelon Mall, a collection of works for film & gallery exhibitions. Echelon Mall is scheduled for release in March on Schematic.

A RECENT Visit to Duncan Laurie's Lab in Jamestown, RI, and A performaNce at mind meld 2008 documented on matrixsynth and create digital music. DUNCAN HAS SPENT THE LAST 20 years Exploring and writing about semiotics and the relationship of subtle energy technology (psychotronic and radionic) to art; devising sonic plant and mineral communication experiments for artistic presentation (with Gordon Salisbury, toDd thille, and others). At DUNCAN's LAB we made music with fruits, vegetables, plants, rocks, our own muscles & brainwaves, and all sorts of other items of typically of little interest to musicians.
5.23.08 ELEKTRON COMPILATION COLLABORATION WITH RICHARD DEVINE 45 TRIBUTE, A COMPILATION FEATURING AUTECHRE, VENETIAN SNARES, BOOM BIP, THE SEA AND CAKE, AND 24 OTHERS, IS AN HOMAGE TO Elektron CEO and co-founder Daniel Hansson, WHO passed away in AUGUST 2007. All proceeds collected from the 45 Tribute will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
